KLY Learning Songs
The professional production of songs in Kala Lagaw Ya to learn basic and introductory words and phrases for beginners. Creating educational content through music and contributing entertaining resources to the ecosystem of Kala Lagaw Ya, suitable for online engagement. Project mentors are Louise Manas and Leonora Adidi.

Lousie Manas
A community leader and fluent speaker of the Kaurareg and Mabuyag dialects of Kala Lagaw Ya. She is of Mualgal descent and her clan group is Soegun. Her skills include teaching, interpreting and cultural advice. With work experience in consulting and facilitating language and cultural programs in both government and community sectors including children and elders. She is a member of the Torres Strait Traditional Language Advisory Committee.

Leonora Adidi
A cultural educator, linguist and a fluent speaker of Kalaw Kawaw Ya. Leonora is of the Suy-Baydham Clan of Bamaga and Saibai Island and lives in the community of Bamaga, QLD. A NAATI-accredited interpreter in Yumplatok (Torres Strait Creole) and Kalaw Kawaw Ya, she has skills in intercultural communication, training, and research. She advises on projects ranging from the development of language learning resources to the curation of artistic performances.
Jessie is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musician and songkeeper. As a trained musician, Jessie hails from a musical family with her father, Joe Geia, having composed the Aboriginal National Anthem ‘Yil Lull’ and is considered a pioneer of contemporary Indigenous music. As a musician, producer and creative entrepreneur, Jessie is a cultural practitioner of Indigenous music and is dedicated to the continuation of song traditions. Jessie has a broad experience in Indigenous music business and sector development having previously worked as the CEO of Songlines Aboriginal Music in Melbourne and South West Aboriginal Entertainment in Perth.
